Books

Mark Clark, The Problem of God: Answering a Skeptic’s Challenges to Christianity (Zondervan, 2017)

Responds to the top ten interrogations people bring against God, and Christianity, including: Does God even exist in the first place? What do we do with Christianity's violent history? Is Jesus just another myth? Can the Bible be trusted? Why should we believe in Hell anymore today

Timothy Keller, The Reason for God: Belief in an Age of Skepticism (Penguin Books, 2009)

Using literature, philosophy, anthropology, pop culture, and intellectual reasoning, Keller explains how the belief in a Christian God is a sound and rational one.

Timothy Keller, Making Sense of God: Finding God in the Modern World (Penguin Books, 2018)

Written for both the ardent believer and the skeptic, Making Sense of God shines a light on the profound value and importance of Christianity in our lives.

C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity (HarperSanFransisco, 2023)

Mere Christianity explores the common ground upon which all of those of Christian faith stand together, presenting rational arguments for why these beliefs are reasonable and meaningful.

J.I. Packer, Growing in Christ (Crossway, 2022)

Each chapter helps both new and lifelong believers examine what Packer calls “the intellectual ABCs” of the gospel so they can grow in faith.

James Bryan Smith, The Good and Beautiful God: Falling in Love With the God Jesus Knows (Hodder & Stoughton, 2011)

What we think about God is the most important thing about us. This book compares our common thoughts about God with what Jesus himself reveals about God.

James K.A. Smith, You Are What You Love: The Spiritual Power of Habit (Brazos Press, 2016)

Smith shows that who and what we worship fundamentally shape our hearts. And while we desire to shape culture, we are not often aware of how culture shapes us.

John Stott, Basic Christianity (Eerdmans, 2017)

This book clearly defines both the fundamental claims of Christianity and the proper out-workings of those basic beliefs in the daily lives of believers.

A.W. Tozer, The Pursuit of God (Independently Published, 2022)

An invitation to every believer to boldly enter into and come alive within the presence of God, who is as much in pursuit of humanity as humanity is in pursuit of him.

N.T. Wright, Broken Signposts: How Christianity Makes Sense of the World (HarperOne, 2022)

This book uses the Gospel of John to reveal how Christianity presents a compelling and relevant explanation for our world.
